2015 NZ EVOO Awards – entries open

The Executive of Olives New Zealand and AGMARDT are pleased to launch the 2015 New Zealand Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards.

The 2015 Judges Panel comprises:

From Australia: Peter Olson (Head Judge) and Margi Kirkby.

International Guest Judge: Himeyo Nagatomo from Japan.

New Zealand Judges: Ed Scott, Hilary Fenemor and Charlotte Conolley.

The New Zealand Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards are arguably the premier olive oil awards in New Zealand because this is the only competition that requires:

  1. all entries to have been certified as Extra Virgin Olive Oil (except Agrumato oils)
  2. all Judges to have completed formal tasting training and to have previous experience in judging Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  3. a judging panel that includes international Extra Virgin Olive Oil tasting experts.

 Awards:

Best in Show – Andy Rosanowski Trophy plus Framed Certificate with Rosette attached sponsored by AGMARDT

Best Boutique – Perpetual trophy sponsored by COSPAK Ltd plus Framed Certificate with Rosette attached

Best Flavoured Oil – Perpetual trophy sponsored by Pure Ingredients Ltd plus Framed Certificate with Rosette attached

Best in Class – Framed Certificates with Rosettes attached sponsored by Arthur Homes Ltd

Best Processor – Perpetual trophy donated by Imreys Talc plus Framed Certificate with Rosette attached

Best Label – Perpetual trophy sponsored by Kiwi Labels Ltd plus Framed Certificate with Rosette attached

Gold, Silver and Bronze winners receive a certificate.

All entries will receive a copy of their summarised Judging Points Assessment Sheet including comments.

Entries open: Monday 10 August 2015            Entries close: Wednesday 9 September 2015

The results of the 2015 NZ EVOO  Awards will be announced at the Awards Dinner at The Bolton Hotel in Wellington on Saturday 3rd October.

If you wish to enter the 2015 NZ EVOO Awards you must submit your oil for certification by 7th August to ensure that results are back in time for entry.
