Atutahi consistently produces award-winning extra virgin olive oil from its 570 trees which were planted between 1999 and 2005. Seven varieties of olives are grown – Barnea, Manzanillo, South Australian Verdale, Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino and Picholene. Two distinctive Gold Medal-winning blends of oil are currently available – one based on the Barnea olive from Israel and the other a mix of the Italian varieties originating from Tuscany.

Fantail Grove

Fantail grove is a boutique olive grove nestled in the scenic farmland outside Greytown. We are a family-run business which prides itself on high quality products, specialising in single variety extra virgin oils so that the unique characteristics of each type of olive can be appreciated. Each year we select some oils to infuse with other natural products to create new taste sensations.
Margot & Richard are happy to have visitors for tastings and tours and enjoy getting to know new customers. Bookings can be done in person or through our website.

Gautrey Farms

Gautrey Farms Ltd have a one hectare high density grove of 1000 FS17 trees in Boundary Road, Masterton.Not yet mature enough for a significant crop.

Huangarua Olives

Huangarua Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from the family run estate Willowstream, originally the ‘Old Bull Run’, tucked away in an idyllic spot along the Huangarua River, only five minutes from Martinborough town centre.

Award winning, since becoming commercially viable in 2009, the family take great pride in how the grove is maintained, and are committed to producing the finest extra virgin olive oil possible with no chemical additives used on the trees, to ensure maximum health qualities in the oil.

Varieties within the grove include Barnea, Manzanillo, and three Italian varieties, Leccino, Frantoio and Pendolino.

Juno Olives

We are a family owned grove producing award-winning extra virgin olive oil. Our grove is set on 17 acres of stony, free-draining soil overlooking the rugged Tararua mountains. We have a classic mix of Tuscan, Greek, Spanish and French cultivars.

Award-winning Mad extra virgin olive oil is infused with love and is bursting with the finest flavours.

It won silver in 2009 and 2011 and in 2010 Gold and Best in Class, with the judges saying: Good olive fruit in aroma on palate. Grassy, herbaceous characters, fresh, well balanced with subtle pepper.

MAD EVOO is available online (we can post or courier it to you) and from the Martinborough Wine Centre.

This summer it will be available from Leanne French and Greg Keiths stunning gallery at their grove.

Molive of Martinborough

Molive Gold is grown on our grove ‘Verdale’ in Martinborough. Since planting our trees in 2000 we have gained 25 awards including four international and a ‘best of show’.

Olivo

Olivo is the oldest commercial grove in the Wairarapa and is owned by Helen and John Meehan. Their Olivo estate extra virgin blend has been a medal winner since 2003. Olivo also produces a range of infused oils, currently lemon, orange, vanilla, fennel, smoked paprika, smoked chilli and porcini for sale at their Tasting Room on the grove and in fine food stores across the country.
