We are Cindy and Tony Millar. Aorangi Estate was established in September 2009 when we hand-planted some 2000 trees in the Waipara Valley region of North Canterbury, famous for its wine, sheep and beef.  Our choice of trees were mix of Tuscan and Greek varieties – all of which are doing well in the stoney loam soil.

The small olive press on site produces excellent cold pressed free run oil and we are continually looking to expand our enterprise in concert with like-minded neighbours.

Mt Grey Olives

Mt Grey Olives was established in late 2009, following the purchase of an established olive grove in North Canterbury. The grove has approximately 2000 olive trees and also 1000 lavender plants. Olive varieties include Leccino,  Frantoio, Barnea, Manzanilla, Verdale, Minerva and J2.  Oil, oil processing by-products and leaf extract all provide base material for the owners’ complementary on-site business, Hancock’s Excelsior Soap www.hancockssoap.com
